Anaheim can win Pacific by defeating Capitals on Sunday

DENVER -- Jakob Silfverberg scored twice and Corey Perry had three assists to help the Anaheim Ducks defeat the Colorado Avalanche 5-3 at Pepsi Center on Saturday. 

Anaheim (45-25-11) can win the Pacific Division with a victory at the Washington Capitals on Sunday. The Ducks trail the Los Angeles Kings by one point; the Kings lost to the Winnipeg Jets 4-3 in a shootout Saturday in their regular-season finale.

The Colorado Avalanche scored twice in 32 seconds, answering 17 seconds after an Anaheim Ducks goal in the second period at Pepsi Center on Saturday.

Ryan Garbutt gave Anaheim a 3-0 lead at 9:37. Goals by Nick Holden at 9:54 and Jarome Iginla at 10:26 got Colorado within 3-2.

Season series: The Colorado Avalanche have won their first two games against the Anaheim Ducks without allowing a goal. Reto Berra made 35 saves in a 3-0 victory at Honda Center on Oct. 16, and Semyon Varlamov had 37 saves in a 3-0 victory at Pepsi Center on March 9 that ended Anaheim's 14-game point streak.
