(1-0-1) tied the game at 9:09 of the third period and Mikkel Boedker (0-1-1) scored the lone goal in the shootout to help the Colorado Avalanche overcome deficits of 1-0 and 3-1 and earn their fifth victory in seven games.

* The Avalanche, who moved three points ahead of the idle Minnesota Wild for the final wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Western Conference, play the Wild once more in their remaining 10 games: March 26 at Pepsi Center. Minnesota has won three of their first four head-to-head matchups this season (MIN: 3-0-1, COL: 1-3-0).

WINNIPEG -- Andrew Ladd scored in his return to MTS Centre, helping the Chicago Blackhawks defeat the Winnipeg Jets 4-0 on Friday.

Scott Darling made 28 saves for his second NHL shutout, which ended a four-game losing streak for Chicago (42-24-6).

The Blackhawks, who won for the first time since March 6, are one point behind the second-place St. Louis Blues in the Central Division.

Andrew Ladd scored for the Chicago Blackhawks at the Winnipeg Jets in his first road game against his former team at MTS Centre on Friday.

Ladd scored 3:06 into the third period, his third goal with Chicago this season after scoring 17 for Winnipeg. It gave the Blackhawks a 3-0 lead.

WINNIPEG -- Chicago Blackhawks left wing Andrew Ladd will play his first game against the Winnipeg Jets since a Feb. 25 trade when the teams play at MTS Centre on Friday.

Ladd, the former Winnipeg captain, played 429 games with the franchise before he was acquired by Chicago for forward Marko Dano and draft picks. Ladd acknowledged mixed feelings about his return to Winnipeg.

Blackhawks' Crawford out with upper-body injury

Chicago goalie day-to-day, won't play Thursday; Leighton recalled from AHL

Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Corey Crawford is day-to-day because of an upper-body injury and will not be with team for its game Friday at the Winnipeg Jets (8 p.m. ET; NHLN, CSN-CH, TSN3), the Blackhawks announced Thursday.

To replace him, Chicago recalled goaltender Michael Leighton from Rockford of the American Hockey League.
