NEW YORK - Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Dalton Prout has been suspended for one game, without pay, for punching an unsuspecting opponent, Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov, during NHL Game No. 1031 in Columbus on Sunday, March 13, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 7:38 of the second period. Prout was assessed a minor penalty for roughing and game misconduct.

COLUMBUS - Forward Steven Stamkos scored twice and goalie Ben Bishop made 37 saves to help the Tampa Bay Lightning end a three-game losing streak with a 4-0 win against the Columbus Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena on Sunday.

Tampa Bay (40-24-5) scored three third-period goals, two of them shorthanded, despite finishing the game with nine forwards because of injuries.

Columbus Blue Jackets forward Brandon Saad will return to the lineup Sunday against the Tampa Bay Lightning (3 p.m. ET; SUN, FS-O, NHL.TV). Saad, who is tied for the Blue Jackets lead with 24 goals and tied for third in scoring with 41 points, missed the past three games with an undisclosed injury. His 24 goals are a career high in his first season in Columbus. He had a career-high 52 points last season with the Chicago Blackhawks.
