DETROIT - Darren Helm scored his second goal of the game with 1:57 left in overtime to help the Detroit Red Wings to a 3-2 win against the New York Rangers at Joe Louis Arena on Saturday. 

Brad Richards tied the game for Detroit (34-23-11) with 31.8 seconds remaining in the third period. Defenseman Danny DeKeyser had two assists and goalie Petr Mrazek made 23 saves.

DETROIT -- Detroit Red Wings defenseman Niklas Kronwall sustained a lower-body injury against the New York Rangers at Joe Louis Arena on Saturday.

Kronwall was helped off the ice in the middle of the second period after getting his right leg stuck and twisted between Detroit goalie Petr Mrazek and New York right wing Jesper Fast during a goal-mouth scramble.

Rangers' Brassard out against Red Wings

Forward remains in New York because of flu @NHL

New York Rangers forward Derick Brassard won't play against the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday (2 p.m. ET; NHLN, SN, MSG, FS-D) because of the flu, the team announced.

Brassard, who didn't practice Friday, did not travel with the Rangers.

Rangers' Nash, Staal may play vs. Red Wings

New York forward has missed 20 games with bone bruise @NHL

New York Rangers forward Rick Nash and defenseman Marc Staal could play Saturday against the Detroit Red Wings (2 p.m. ET; NHLN, FS-D, MSG, SN).

Nash has been out since Jan. 22 because of a bone bruise in his left leg sustained blocking a shot against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Season series: Kevin Klein scored at 1:59 of overtime to lead the New York Rangers to a 1-0 victory against the Detroit Red Wings on Feb. 21 at Madison Square Garden. Forwards Kevin Hayes and Chris Kreider assisted on the goal, and Henrik Lundqvist finished with a 22-save shutout. Jimmy Howard made 29 saves for the Red Wings.
