2.26 Colton TBL SS Blog

Tampa Bay Lightning forward Ross Colton will keep a blog throughout the 2022 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series. The Lightning are playing the Nashville Predators at Nissan Stadium on Saturday (7:30 p.m. ET; TNT, SN360, TVAS2, NHL LIVE).
In his first entry, Colton discusses preparing for his first outdoor game, practicing outside and walking around Nashville.

I have not played in an outdoor game and I'm excited.
Practicing outside was a little different, we got the glare, the big lights and whatnot. But you know, we played in some big games these last couple of years, so I don't think it will be anything too crazy. Just a lot more capacity -- a lot more. So right now, that's going to be cool when we start taking warmups and looking around and saying, "Wow." It'll be something different.

I like country music. I don't turn it on every time I drive but if it's on, I'll listen to it. I haven't been in Nashville either, like downtown, besides when we come to play the Predators. Me and my buddies always talked about coming here and having a weekend.
I got a chance to walk around today. Once we got in, my parents got here yesterday, my girlfriend's parents too, so I kind of walked around with them downtown a little bit, but it was kind of mayhem and you couldn't move in the streets too well, and there were people asking for autographs and pictures so it's kind of like "Yeah, maybe we should call it a day," but you know, that's what it's all about.
As for the game, just going out there with my teammates is going to be something special. The family skate is something that I was really looking forward to, just to share that with my family. Unfortunately, my brother was not able to come, he's coaching in the playoffs right now (for Villanova of the Eastern Collegiate Hockey Association), so he wasn't able to make it. But having my mom and dad out there, they've done so much for me in my career, so to just take some pictures with them, just little moments like that to look back in a couple of years, that's what it's all about.
