Rantanen helped start a strong comeback from Finland in the third period with a power-play tally, but the Finns could not tie up the game and force overtime despite recording 11 shots on goal in the frame.
The Nousiainen, Finland, native served as an alternate captain for his country and finished the tournament with 11 points (five goals, six assists) in eight games played, tied for the sixth most points at the 2018 Worlds.
For Switzerland, Andrighetto finished the contest with a plus-1 rating in 12:41 of ice time. He was on Switzerland's second line with Timo Meier (San Jose Sharks) and Joel Vermin.
Moving on to the semifinals, Switzerland will take on Team Canada in Copenhagen on Saturday.

Canada (5) vs. Russia (4) - Overtime

It required more than 60 minutes to decide the winner of the Canada-Russia quarterfinal, but Team Canada prevailed in the end with a 5-4 victory at Royal Arena in Copenhagen on Thursday.
The man advantage proved to be the difference in the contest as Canada scored three times while on the power play, including Ryan O'Reilly's (Buffalo Sabres) game-winning tally 4:57 into the extra stanza.
Team Canada scored the first two goals of the contest, but Russia found the back of the net twice in the middle frame to go into the second intermission tied at 2-2.
Canada outshot Russia 41-30 in the contest, including a 15-8 mark in the third stanza when the two teams traded tallies.
Avs forward Tyson Jost assisted on Canada's fourth goal of the game and now has six points (four goals, two assists) in seven contests at the tournament. The 20-year old played 12:28 in the match and was on Canada's third line with Josh Bailey (New York Islanders) and Pierre-Luc Dubois (Columbus Blue Jackets).
Jost and Canada will stay in Copenhagen to take on Andrighetto and Team Switzerland in the semifinals on Saturday.

United States (3) vs. Czech Republic (2)

The United States defeated the Czech Republic 3-2 at Jyske Bank Boxen in the quarterfinals.
Avs prospect Pavel Francouz was in net for Czechia and made 28 saves, including 14 in the second period, in the loss. He was between the pipes for five games at the 2018 IIHF Worlds and finished the tournament with a 2.38 goals-against average and .904 save percentage.

Team USA scored twice in the first period, but the Czechs responded in the second with two goals of their own, including a power-play tally.
The Czech Republic was 1-for-3 with the man advantage in the outing and did not give the USA, the tournament's best power-play unit, a chance with an extra skater.
American Patrick Kane (Chicago Blackhawks) scored his second of the game early in the third frame to give the United States a lead it would not relinquish. He leads all skaters at this year's Worlds with 19 points (eight goals, 11 assists).
The United States will play Sweden, the Group-A winner, on Saturday at Royal Arena in Copenhagen. Sweden defeated Latvia 3-2 in its quarterfinals match on Thursday.
