Green Bay center Casey Mittelstadt was named Forward of the Week in the United States Hockey League on Monday.
Mittelstadt, an A-rated skater on NHL Central Scouting's preliminary players to watch list for the 2017 NHL Draft, had two goals and six points in two Green Bay victories last week.
The 6-foot-1, 201-pound center has five goals and 12 points during a five-game point streak. In 14 games he leads the USHL in points (20) and power-play points (14), is tied for second in power-play goals (four) and tied for fifth in goals (eight).
He also had two goals and was named player of the game at the CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game in Philadelphia on Sept. 22.
Mittelstadt will rejoin his team at Eden Prairie (Minn.) High School on Nov. 14 to begin preparation for the scholastic season that starts Dec. 1. Eden Prairie lost 5-3 to Wayzata in the 2015-16 Minnesota Class AA state championship game last season. He'll return to Green Bay when his high school season ends.
