Oilers center McDavid will play Tuesday

Rookie has missed 37 games with broken left clavicle

EDMONTON -- Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid will return to the lineup against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday (9 p.m., ET; FS-O, SNP, SNO) after missing 37 games with a fractured clavicle. 

McDavid, 19, sustained the injury Nov. 3 against the Philadelphia Flyers, crashing into the end boards on a shorthanded rush.

Season series: The Columbus Blue Jackets swept the Edmonton Oilers with a pair of shootout victories in 2014-15, 5-4 in Columbus and 4-3 in Edmonton. Forward Alexander Wennberg led the Blue Jackets with three assists and scored the two shootout winners. Forward Nail Yakupov led the way for the Oilers with two goals and an assist.

Blue Jackets' Tortorella to coach Tuesday: report

Coach has missed three games with two broken ribs after accidental collision in practice @NHLdotcom

Columbus Blue Jackets coach John Tortorella is expected to return to practice with the team Monday and be behind the bench against the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday, Blue Jackets general manager Jarmo Kekalainen told the Columbus Dispatch on Saturday.

Tortorella sustained two broken ribs in an accidental collision with forward Rene Bourque during an outdoor practice in Columbus on Jan. 22 and missed three games.
