CHICAGO -- The Chicago Blackhawks will be without right wing Marian Hossa for an extended time because of a lower-body injury sustained Saturday during a 3-2 overtime loss to the Anaheim Ducks.

At 14:48 of the second period, Hossa fell awkwardly while battling for a puck with defenseman Hampus Lindholm in the offensive zone.

CHICAGO -- It looked like Patrick Kane might give the Chicago Blackhawks their third overtime win against the Anaheim Ducks this season when he went in on a breakaway during the first shift of the extra period at United Center on Saturday. 

Instead, Kane missed the net and Anaheim flipped the script. Ryan Getzlaf scored a power-play goal at 2:16 of overtime by knocking the rebound of defenseman Cam Fowler's shot past goaltender Corey Crawford to give the Ducks a 3-2 victory.

CHICAGO -- Artemi Panarin will return to the lineup for the Chicago Blackhawks when they play the Anaheim Ducks at United Center on Saturday.

Panarin, 24, has missed the past two games with an illness. The Blackhawks lost both games, on home ice, including a 4-2 loss to the Dallas Stars on Friday. Panarin was one of 15 players who participated in Chicago's optional morning skate.
