2/12/16: In his first game since returning from injury, Jaden Schwartz nets a rebound for his first goal of the season

SUNRISE, Fla. -- After St. Louis Blues coach Ken Hitchcock warned hours earlier not to expect too much from Jaden Schwartz in his return, the forward made a major contribution in a win against the Florida Panthers.

Schwartz had a goal and an assist, and the Blues defeated the Panthers 5-3 at BB&T Center on Friday.

"I felt pretty good," Schwartz said. "I tried not to think about it too much, just go out there and play, move my feet early, try to get in the game as quick as I could. The adrenaline was going too. Overall, I felt a little bit better than I thought I would."

BLUES (30-17-9) at PANTHERS (32-16-6)

TV: 7:30 p.m. ET; FS-MW, FS-F, NHL.TV

SUNRISE, Fla. -- With his father in the stands as part of the St. Louis Blues' fathers' trip, forward Jaden Schwartz will make his long-awaited return to the lineup Friday against the Florida Panthers.

"I knew the timeframe was going to be around this time, so I kind of had this area circled on my calendar and just tried doing everything I could to put myself in a good situation to make sure I'm ready," Schwartz said after the Blues' optional morning skate. "I'm not sure what to expect. I'll probably just try to keep my feet moving early, try to touch the puck a little bit, make some plays."
