The Devils (12-9-6) will face the New York Rangers (19-9-1) tonight at Madison Square Garden to kick off four consecutive road games. Here's what you need to know:
1) The Rangers are one of the most offensively talented teams in the league. They are the first team to score 100 goals and they average 3.45 per game. Michael Grabner leads the team with 13 goals, while JT Miller leads with 21 points.

2) Antti Raanta (1.83 GAA, .939 save percentage) has started the last two games for the Rangers and will get the nod again tonight across from Cory Schneider (2.72 GAA, .911 save percentage).
3) One of the goals for the Devils this offseason was to improve the offense from the defense and that meant more than just an effective transition game and strong first pass. Head coach John Hynes wanted his offensive-minded blue liners to be able to jump into the play, at times, as the fourth forward. So far so good 27 games into the season as they are responsible for 22.4% of the team's goals. A marked improvement over 10.9% last season. Add in their assists, and the defensemen account for 26.7% of the team's total offense.
