Wellwood Undergoes Successful Procedure

by Staff Writer / Toronto Maple Leafs
The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Saturday that forward Kyle Wellwood underwent a successful minor revision to his sports hernia repair. The procedure was done today and he will be out of the lineup indefinitely.

Wellwood missed 33 consecutive games last season after the January 24th surgery and he returned to the Maple Leafs lineup on March 10, 2007. He played the final 11 games to close out the 2006-07 regular season and also the first game of this month's preseason schedule (September 18 at Edmonton).

Wellwood recorded 42 points (12g, 30a) in 48 games for Toronto last season.
