TORONTO, ON, October 9, 2018 - The Toronto Maple Leafs will host its inaugural Leafs Gaming Day on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Real Sports Bar & Grill in Toronto. The event will feature EA SPORTS NHL 19 and Fortnite gaming with Toronto Maple Leafs players, members of popular gaming collective FaZe Clan, the top eight ranked players from the Leafs Gaming League online ladder, gaming enthusiasts and fans.

"The Toronto Maple Leafs are excited to build on the success of last year's Maple Leafs Face Off tournament and to connect directly with our next generation of fans," said Toronto Maple Leafs President and Alternate Governor, Brendan Shanahan. "Leafs Gaming Day will create an even greater opportunity for us to interact with our fans and create memorable moments for both players and attendees alike."
All gamers who have registered and played at least one online match in Leafs Gaming League can win a chance to attend Leafs Gaming Day in Toronto. On the day, the eight highest ranked players from the official online ladder, as of October 18, 2018, will compete in a NHL 19 tournament bracket, with a cash prize pool of $5,000. All eight attendees will receive authentic Toronto Maple Leafs jerseys for qualifying.
Players from the Toronto Maple Leafs will also feature in the second annual Leafs vs Leafs "Face Off 2.0" tournament involving Leafs players going controller-to-controller in a NHL 19 tournament bracket. Auston Matthews was crowned last year's champion, after beating Zach Hyman in a tightly-contested affair in the finals. The finalists from the two respective brackets, Maple Leafs and Leafs Gaming League, will then compete in a final show match.
Following NHL 19 Face Off programming, members of FaZe Clan, the world's most popular gaming group, will compete in Fortnite squads along with Maple Leafs players and fans in attendance. Fans will be chosen to participate from the live crowd and will enjoy a unique opportunity to join celebrity Fortnite squads featuring players from the Maple Leafs and FaZe Clan. FaZe Clan will also host an interactive meet and greet with fans at the exclusive event.
