Tlusty Helps Leafs Defend Crown

(TORONTO) -- The Maple Leafs rookies have successfully defended their rookie tournament title.

Jiri Tlusty scored his fourth goal of the tournament with just under three minutes remaining in the third, to lift Toronto to a 3-2 win over the Montreal Canadiens.

Chris St. Jacques and Alex Foster also scored for the Leafs who went a perfect 4-0 in the tournament.

Frederic St-Denis and Matthew D'Agostini had the Canadiens goals.

Justin Pogge made 34 saves for the win, while Carey Price stopped 27 shots in the loss.

The Maple Leafs will kick off their training camp on Friday at Ricoh Coliseum with an open practice. Toronto will play their annual Blue and White Game on Sunday Sept. 17th also at the Ricoh Coliseum.
