Three Players Assigned to Marlies

Cliff Fletcher, general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced Wednesday that forwards Mark Bell and Boyd Devereaux, as well as defenceman Staffan Kronwall have been assigned to the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League.

The Maple Leafs will open the 2008-09 regular season against two original six rivals this week. Toronto will play their first game of the season on Thursday at 7 pm when they visit the defending Stanley Cup Champion Detroit Red Wings at Joe Louis Arena. On Saturday the Maple Leafs will host the Montreal Canadiens in their home opener at Air Canada Centre. Game time is 7 pm.

The Marlies begin their fourth season in Toronto when they host the Binghamton Senators (AHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators) on Friday at Ricoh Coliseum at 7 pm. For ticket information, including season ticket packages and priority seating, visit or call the team’s ticket line at 416-597-PUCK.
