White Has Become Leafs Best Defender Video: Wilson | Stempniak | Finger

The Leafs had their second straight day of practice on Tuesday at the MasterCard Centre For Hockey Excellence.

Excluding all-star breaks, Olympic breaks or work stoppages the six day layoff is the longest during a season since January 7th to January 14th, 1956

Jonas Gustavsson was on the ice early once again as he looks to return to the lineup from a groin injury. He skated on the ice and took shots for the first time since his injury.

Vesa Toskala skated in full equipment and took shots for the first time since his injury. He was on the ice for 20 minutes.

Ian White returned to practice after missing Monday's practice due to getting sitches after taking a puck in the face on Saturday.

Ron Wilson spoke to the media after practice and was asked about his goalie situation:

On Gustavsson:
"He’s just going out there to activate the muscles in his lower body. I have my fingers crossed that he might be able to play Monday in Anaheim."

On Toskala: "If Vesa is stopping pucks by the end of the week then we might take four goalies on the trip. I’m sure Vesa and Jonas will be ready sometime during the trip."
