Centre John Tavares Sustains Broken Finger

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that centre John Tavares sustained a broken finger late in last night's game in Washington. He will be out of the lineup for a minimum of two weeks, at which point he will be reassessed by the Maple Leafs medical staff.

Tavares, 29, has collected seven points (three goals, four assists) in eight games with the Maple Leafs this season. In 2018-19, his first season with the club, the Oakville, Ontario native registered 88 points (47 goals, 41 assists) in 82 regular season games and five points (two goals, three assists) in seven playoff games.
