Sundin To Make Two Community Appearances

The Toronto Maple Leafs and the MLSE Team Up Foundation will host two very special community events this week in Toronto with the assistance of former captain Mats Sundin.

What: Mats Sundin to participate in the MLSE Shape Up Program
When: Thursday October 27; 1-2 pm
Who:  *Grades JK-8
*350 students
*Maple Leafs all-time leading scorer Mats Sundin to lend a helping hand

About MLSE Shape Up:
•  Entering its second year, MLSE Shape Up ( is a free program focused on using professional sports to create healthy, active living opportunities for children and youth in Grades 1  to 8.

About the Toronto District School Board (TDSB):
•  New this year, Shape Up is working on a partnership with Toronto District School Board (TDSB)’s Fit for Life initiative - a strong addition to the program’s current partnerships with OPHEA and the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB).

What: Mats Sundin to appear as a special guest instructor at a skating clinic at the Angela James Rink
When:  Friday, October 28; 9:30 – 10:30 am
Where:  Newly refurbished Angela James Arena
Who:   *Grade 5 and 7 students from local elementary and middle schools
*Maple Leafs great Mats Sundin to assist the Maple Leafs Hockey Development Team as a Guest Instructor

About the Angela James Rink Refurbishment:
•  The Angela James Rink is a recent recipient of fundraising from the MLSE Team Up Foundation
•  MLSE Team Up Foundation’s largest refurbishment project to date with $250,000 invested in the project
