St. John's finished the regular season with three straight wins to finish the regular season in second place in the North Division, gaining home ice advantage in the first round. With those three wins, the team also set a new franchise record for wins in a season with 46 after a 4-1 victory over the Edmonton Roadrunners on Saturday night. The previous mark of 45 wins was set in 1993-94.
Last week the club broke its franchise record for home wins and finished the season with 28 wins at Mile One Stadium. The previous mark of 25 was set in 1992-93.
St. John's finished the regular season in second place in the North Division with a 46-28-1-5 record (98 points). The team also finished with a 28-9-0-3 record at home. David Ling, a free-agent signing this past summer, had a three-point night on the last game of the regular season earning him third overall in the AHL with 88 points and fourth overall in assists with 60. Kyle Wellwood, a 2001 fifth-round draft pick of the Toronto Maple Leafs, had a two-goal game on the same night giving him 38 on the year which was fourth-best in the AHL (tie) and he was also fourth best in points with 87.
St. John's split the eight-game regular season series with Manitoba, the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, with each club winning four games. The Leafs and the Moose played in four, two-game series this season and each time Manitoba earned a victory in the first game (one of them in a shoot-out) and St. John's replied each time with a win in the second game. Kyle Wellwood led all scorers in the series with 19 points (6G, 13A) and a +8 in eight games versus Manitoba.

Tickets will be on sale to the public for Game six on Thursday, April 21 at 10 a.m. Tickets can be purchased at any ticketmaster outlet, through ticketmaster.ca or by calling 416-872-5000. The Air Canada Centre box office will sell tickets for Game six after the first on-sale day. Details will be released shortly regarding the public on-sale date for Game seven of the series.
