Smith Recalled, Liles Assigned To Marlies

David Nonis, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced Friday the hockey club has recalled forward Trevor Smith from the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League. The Leafs also announced that defenceman John-Michael Liles has been assigned to the Marlies.

Smith has played nine games for the Leafs this season and scored one goal. He registered the game-winning goal October 15 against Minnesota. In seven games with the Marlies he has earned four goals, eight assists and 12 points, along with six penalty minutes and a (+4) plus/minus rating.

Liles was originally recalled by the Leafs on October 28, but did not play in any games. He has played eight games for the Marlies this season collecting five points on one goal and four assists, while recording eight minutes in penalties.
