O'Neill Has Successful Surgery

(May 10, 2006) -- The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Wednesday that right-winger Jeff O'Neill had successful surgery on his right shoulder today. He is expected to complete his recovery and rehabilitation in time for training camp in September.

O'Neill, 30, recorded 19 goals and 19 assists for 38 points in 74 games during his first season with the Maple Leafs in 2005-06 and he shared the team-lead with six game-winning goals. He placed third on the Maple Leafs with 14 powerplay goals.

O'Neill has 217 goals and 237 assists for 454 points in 747 games in the National Hockey League since joining the Hartford Whalers in 1995-96.
