Morning Skate Notes: Leafs vs. Stars

by David Alter / Toronto Maple Leafs

Additional Notes

Leo Komarov will be out of the lineup tonight when the Leafs host the Dallas Stars.

Komarov took an elbow to the head from Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin, in Toronto’s 6-2 win over the Capitals.

“He’s unavailable for tonight” said Leafs coach Randy Carlyle. “The symptoms have subsided,

generally but there’s a timeframe in which we have to wait.”

Richard Panik will draw into tonight’s lineup as a result. Panik has been a healthy scratch since suiting up on November 22nd, in a 4-1 win against Detroit.

Jonathan Bernier is expected to make his sixth consecutive start in goal tonight, the most either goaltender has started in succession. Bernier is 3-1-1 in his last five starts.

Phil Kessel will play despite leaving half way through Monday’s practice with lower-body soreness. Tonight’s game will mark Kessel’s 387th consecutive game played.
