Monster Selected To Swedish Olympic Team

Maple Leafs netminder Jonas Gustavsson was named to the 2010 Swedish Olympic hockey team on Sunday.


The rookie goalie has appeared in 21 games for the Leafs this season, making 18 starts. He has posted a GAA of 2.86 and has recorded seven wins on the year.

He picked up his first NHL win on October 26th against the Anaheim Ducks. He recorded his first NHL shutout against the Boston Bruins on December 19th.

Gustavsson signed with the Maple Leafs this past summer after having a stellar season with Farjestads of the Swedish Elite League. He backstopped Farjestads to the league title posting a 1.03 GAA and a .961 save percentage in the playoffs.

This will be his second time representing his country. He took part in the 2009 World Hockey Championships where he helped Sweden win a bronze medal posting a record of 3-2-0 and a GAA of 2.83 and a save percentage of .914.
