McCabe Has Successful Surgery, Stralman Recalled

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Monday that defenceman Bryan McCabe had successful surgery today in Toronto to repair three broken metacarpals in his left hand. The injury occurred during the third period of Saturday’s game at Montreal. He is expected to be out of the lineup for six to eight weeks.

Anton Stralman was recalled Monday from the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League (AHL). In 21 AHL games this season, the rookie defenceman has 11 points (all assists), 22 penalty minutes and a plus 3 mark. The native of Tibro, Sweden appeared in seven games earlier this season with the Maple Leafs.
