Marlies Fall To Stars In Game Five

The Texas Stars defeated the Toronto Marlies by a score of 2-1 this afternoon in game five of the Western Conference Final at Ricoh Coliseum. Texas now leads the best-of-seven series 3-2.

Toronto would open the scoring for a 12th consecutive game when Spencer Abbott notched his fourth goal of the postseason just 0:41 into the first period. Scott Glennie’s fourth goal of the playoffs would tie the game at one midway through the middle frame. Texas’ Taylor Peters would score the eventual game winning goal off an initial shot from Matej Stransky at 9:02 of the third period to give the Stars a 2-1 victory.

The series now shifts back to the Cedar Park Center for game six on Monday night at 8:30 p.m. ET. If necessary, game seven will also be played in Texas on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. ET.
