Maple Leafs sign free agent Justin Holl

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that the hockey club has signed free agent defenceman Justin Holl to a one-year entry-level contract.

Holl, 24, skated last season with the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League (AHL), recording five goals and 16 assists for 21 points. He also collected four assists in 15 playoff games.

The Tonka Bay, Minnesota native played four seasons with the University of Minnesota before splitting the 2014-15 season between the Indy Fuel (ECHL) and Rockford IceHogs (AHL).

Holl was selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the second-round (54th overall) in the 2010 NHL Draft.
