The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that the hockey club has signed forward Zach Aston-Reese to a one-year contract. The average annual value of the contract is $840,630.

Aston-Reese, 28, posted 15 points (five goals, 10 assists) through 69 games split between the Anaheim Ducks and Pittsburgh Penguins during the 2021-22 season. The Staten Island, NY native has recorded 66 points (32 goals, 34 assists) through 230 career NHL games and has added four points (one goal, three assists) through 23 career playoff games. Aston-Reese previously recorded 46 points (18 goals, 28 assists) through 62 career AHL games (2016-19) with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

Aston-Reese spent four seasons (2013-17) with Northeastern University (NCAA) where he posted 148 points (66 goals, 82 assists) through 145 career NCAA games. Aston-Reese helped the club to a 2016 NCAA (Hockey East) Championship. He also led the NCAA in goals (31) and points (63) while being named a Hobey Baker Finalist and to the NCAA (Hockey East) First All-Star Team in 2016-17.
