John Ferguson, general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced Wednesday that the city of Kitchener, Ontario will be the site of the team's 2004 training camp.
"Our organization is very pleased with the selection of Kitchener," said Ferguson. "In previous training camps, the Maple Leafs enjoyed tremendous hospitality from the City of Kitchener, the Kitchener Rangers and the strong legion of Maple Leafs fans in the community. We are excited and looking forward to a productive week of preparation and development for our hockey club."
The Maple Leafs intend to conduct their on-ice and off-ice training sessions, plus the annual Blue and White Intra-squad Game, at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium Complex. In addition to the Toronto Maple Leafs' training camps that took place at this location in 2000 and 1997, the team has also held their Rookie Camp Tournaments at the Memorial Auditorium Complex on numerous occasions in the past.
The team's preseason schedule will be released at a later date.
