The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that the hockey club has recalled defenceman Justin Holl from the Toronto Marlies (AHL) on an emergency basis.
Defenceman Roman Polak has been placed on the injured reserve list due to a viral infection while defenceman Ron Hainsey will be a game-time decision for tonight's game (illness). Holl, 26, has collected 20 points (four goals, 16 assists) in 39 games with the Marlies this season and participated in the 2018 AHL All-Star Classic last weekend. In 173 career AHL games, the Tonka Bay, Minnesota native has registered 60 points (17 goals, 43 assists). Holl was originally selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the second round (54th overall) of the 2010 NHL Draft and signed an NHL contract with the Maple Leafs on July 2, 2016.
The Maple Leafs host the New York Islanders at Air Canada Centre tonight at 7:30 p.m.
