The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Thursday that forward Josh Holden has been recalled from the St. John's Maple Leafs of the American Hockey League.
Holden, 24, has played 13 games for St. John's this season and has collected 14 points (six goals, eight assists) with 14 penalty minutes. He currently leads the team in goals (tie) and points (tie). Holden appeared in six preseason games with Toronto and scored one goal with seven minutes in penalties.
The native of Calgary, Alberta has 13 points (four goals, nine assists) in 54 career NHL games with Vancouver and Carolina. He was originally Vancouver's first choice, 12th overall in the 1996 Entry Draft.
Holden is expected to join the team in Dallas and will replace forward Nik Antropov who is sidelined seven to 10 days with a slight knee sprain.
