(April 12, 2006) -- John Ferguson, general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced Wednesday that goaltender J.S. Aubin has been re-signed to a one-year contract. In keeping with club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Since being recalled from the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League on March 14, Aubin has played in eight games for the Maple Leafs, earning a record of 6-0-2, a 2.19 goals against average, and a .925 save percentage.
The 28-year-old native of Montreal, Quebec began his NHL career by posting back-to-back twenty-win seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins (1999-01).
Aubin has played 176 career games in the NHL with Toronto and Pittsburgh. During Aubin's career he has compiled a record of 69-72-13, a 2.88 goals against average, and a .902 save percentage.
Aubin was originally selected by Pittsburgh in the third round, 76th overall in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft.
