Maple Leafs re-assign Pilar to St. John's

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Thursday that defenceman Karel Pilar has been re-assigned to St. John's of the American Hockey League.

Pilar, 24, appeared in three games for Toronto collecting one point with four minutes in penalties. He made his NHL debut January 25 at Vancouver and collected his first NHL point January 30 at Atlanta. The native of Prague in the Czech Republic has played in 39 games with St. John's this season and has 14 points (eight goals, six assists) with 20 penalty minutes.

The Maple Leafs next on ice workout will take place at 3:00pm on Sunday at Lake Shore Lions Arena.
