Maple Leafs Re-assign Gavey, Druken

(February 2, 2004) -- The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Monday that they have re-assigned forwards Aaron Gavey and Harold Druken to the St. John's Maple Leafs of the American Hockey League.

Gavey, 29, was recalled by Toronto on January 31 but did not see action. He has played 46 games for St. John's this season collecting 38 points (13 goals, 25 assists) with 74 penalty minutes.

The native of Sudbury, Ontario has played 355 career NHL games for Tampa Bay, Calgary, Dallas, Minnesota and Toronto collecting 91 points (41 goals, 50 assists) with 270 penalty minutes.

Druken, 25, has played nine games for Toronto this season collecting four assists with two penalty minutes. He has also played 26 games for St. John's collecting 28 points (14 goals, 14 assists) with 20 penalty minutes.

The native of St. John's, Newfoundland has played 146 career NHL games for Vancouver, Carolina and Toronto collecting 63 points (27 goals, 36 assists) with 36 penalty minutes.
