Maple Leafs re-assign Farkas to St. John's

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Wednesday that right-winger Jeff Farkas has been re-assigned to the St. John's Maple Leafs of the American Hockey League.


Farkas, 24, has appeared in five games for Toronto this season and has two assists with four minutes in penalties. He has also played 68 games with St. John's and has 47 points (14 goals, 33 assists) with 47 penalty minutes.

The native of Amherst, New York made his NHL debut in the 1999-2000 playoffs and scored a goal May 6 versus New Jersey in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semi-Final.

Farkas was Toronto's first choice, 57th overall in the 1997 Entry Draft.
