The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that the hockey club has loaned forward Eric Fehr to the Toronto Marlies (AHL), while forward Kasperi Kapanen has been recalled from the Marlies.
Fehr, 32, has appeared in four games with the Maple Leafs this season, registering four shots on goal and two penalty minutes. In 2016-17, Fehr skated in one game with the Maple Leafs before sustaining an upper-body injury and missing the remainder of the season. He had six goals and five assists for 11 points in 52 games with the Pittsburgh Penguins prior to being acquired by the Maple Leafs. Fehr was acquired by Toronto in a trade with the Penguins on March 1, 2017.
Kapanen, 21, has skated in six games with the Toronto Marlies this season, scoring three goals. In 2016-17, Kapanen appeared in eight regular season games with the Maple Leafs and scored one goal before adding two goals in six Stanley Cup playoff games with the club. He also recorded 43 points (18 goals, 25 assists) in 43 games with the Toronto Marlies last season and had an additional eight points (2 goals, 6 assists) in nine Calder Cup playoff games. Kapanen was acquired by the Maple Leafs in a trade with the Pittsburgh Penguins on July 1, 2015.
The Maple Leafs host the Philadelphia Flyers tonight at Air Canada Centre at 7:00 p.m.
