As we return to the ice tonight for our first game in February, the Maple Leafs join millions in our community, and our game, in acknowledging and celebrating the important contributions of Black individuals to Canadian history and reinforcing our commitment to contributing to the ongoing pursuit for racial equity.
Throughout the month of February, the Maple Leafs will promote Black History Month through a number of important employee and fan initiatives, including producing an array of original content and programming exploring the contributions of Black pioneers in hockey. The Maple Leafs will also engage in other community initiatives and commitments as part of MLSE's long-term Equity, Diversity and Inclusion strategy.
Working directly in our local community, using our social platforms and engaging employees within our larger organization in conversation, we recognize this vital opportunity to celebrate, educate and create a culture of inclusion in our sport and beyond.
Thank you for sharing this important celebration of Black History Month with us. Together, we look forward to creating a positive and lasting change in our community and our game.
