The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that the team will travel to Halifax, Nova Scotia for three days at the start of their 2015-16 training camp.
After holding their medicals and media day at MasterCard Centre in Etobicoke on September 17, the team will travel to Halifax where they will conduct on-ice sessions at BMO Centre in Bedford, Nova Scotia from September 18-20. The team will then open its eight-game pre-season schedule with split-squad games against the Senators in Ottawa and Toronto on September 21. A complete roster for this year’s training camp will be released at a later date.
Practices on Sept. 18-20 will begin each day at approximately 9:30 a.m. each day and end at approximately 2 p.m. Tickets for each day will be on sale each morning at the main entrance of the arena at a cost of $5 per person (cash only) with all proceeds benefitting KidSport Nova Scotia, a program of Sport Nova Scotia which has long been a charitable partner of MLSE Foundation and the Leafs. Capacity at each session will be limited and seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
This year’s trip to Halifax marks the first time that the Maple Leafs have held a portion of their training camp outside of Ontario since the team traveled to St. John’s, Newfoundland in 2001.
