by Staff Writer / Toronto Maple Leafs
The Toronto Maple Leafs announced their 2008-09 preseason schedule Friday, which features five games at Air Canada Centre and four on the road. The Maple Leafs will host the Buffalo Sabres, Pittsburgh Penguins, St. Louis Blues, Detroit Red Wings and Columbus Blue Jackets. Toronto’s first preseason game on Monday, September 22 against Buffalo at Air Canada Centre will be the Coca-Cola Zero Fans First Game. The Maple Leafs added this free game for fans to their schedule as a way of recognizing the outstanding support of their fans. The game will air live on Rogers Sportsnet and TSN will carry the Maple Leafs game at Pittsburgh two days later. The remaining seven games will be shown live on Leafs TV.  All nine preseason games will be carried live on AM 640 Toronto Radio.

The Maple Leafs will play their nine game preseason schedule over 14 days, which includes a home-and-home series against both the Stanley Cup champion Detroit Red Wings and the Stanley Cup finalist Pittsburgh Penguins. The Maple Leafs will conclude the preseason schedule with a home game on Sunday, October 5 versus the Columbus Blue Jackets at 5 p.m.
