The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Thursday that the team has signed junior centre Matt Stajan of the Belleville Bulls to a three-year contract. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Playing in his third season with Belleville of the Ontario Hockey League in 2002-2003, the Mississauga, Ontario native recorded 34 goals and 60 assists for 94 points and a plus-41 rating in 57 regular season games.

In seven playoff games this year, he posted totals of five goals and eight assists as the Bulls lost their first round OHL Eastern Conference Quarter-Final series to the St. Michael's Majors.

Stajan also participated in the 2003 World Junior Tournament in Halifax, Nova Scotia this season, and earned a goal and an assist as Canada captured the tournament's Silver medal.
