The Maple Leafs announced today that the hockey club has acquired a seventh-round draft pick in the 2019 NHL Draft from the Dallas Stars in exchange for defenceman Connor Carrick. In the event Carrick plays in 50 NHL games during the 2018-19 season, Dallas will instead transfer their sixth-round selection in the 2019 NHL Draft to Toronto.

Carrick, 24, skated in 47 games for the Maple Leafs during the 2017-18 season, registering four goals and eight assists for 12 points. In 130 games with the Maple Leafs from 2016-18, Carrick registered 24 points (8 goals, 16 assists) and 93 penalty minutes.
Carrick was originally acquired by the Maple Leafs in a trade with the Washington Capitals on February 28, 2016.
