Lupul Injury Update

by Staff Writer / Toronto Maple Leafs

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Thursday that forward Joffrey Lupul is expected to miss a minimum of six weeks due to a fractured forearm injury sustained in the second period of last night’s game in Pittsburgh. Lupul has been placed on the Leafs injured reserve list. In Lupul’s place, forward Matt Frattin has been recalled from the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League.

Frattin has played 21 games for the Marlies this season collecting 17 points on nine goals and eight assists, along with 14 minutes in penalties. On Wednesday he was added to the Western Conference roster for the 2013 AHL All-Star Classic. Frattin is expected to make his season debut with the Leafs tonight against the New York Islanders at Air Canada Centre.
