Lightning strike in OT

TORONTO (Ticker) -- Defenseman Jassen Cullimore scored 2:17 into overtime to give the Tampa Bay Lightning a 3-2 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs in the final preseason contest for both teams.

Sprung by a pass from Fredrik Modin, who had two assists, Cullimore deked goaltender Ed Belfour and slipped in the puck for his first preseason goal.

Toronto defenseman Bryan McCabe's goal with 6:37 to play lifted the Maple Leafs into a 2-2 tie.

Tampa Bay's Nikolai Khabibulin made two of his 28 saves in the extra period. Belfour stopped 30 shots for Toronto, which remains without veteran left wing Gary Roberts as he recovers from offseason surgery on both shoulders.
