Josh Leivo was recalled by the Maple Leafs on Monday. Here's what he had to say about the opportunity... Leafs TV
On his health:
I feel good coming into this year. I had a little bit of a slow start last year and going in through the year. A good start this year and we have a good team down there. I'm just trying to make the most of it up here and trying to help this team win.
What has been so great about the Marlies?
We've just got a good group of guys. Sheldon has been doing a great job and guys are just buying into the systems. We also have goaltending, even when they're called up from the coast. Everyone is standing on their head and we're just getting good team wins.
Do you feel different coming up this time?
For sure, I'm a little more excited and I just want to get on that ice and help this team win.
Does the similarity in style between the Marlies and Leafs ease your transition?
It's easier to transfer up here. The system is easy when you know how to play it and I've been doing it down there for a couple of months now. I'm excited to try it up here.
Is sacrificing the AHL All-Star Game a good sacrifice to be up here?
Yeah, it's an honour to get the vote to be an all-star but I'm happy to be up here right now and help the Leafs.
