Leafs TV announced Tuesday that it will broadcast 20 Toronto Maple Leafs games during the 2007-08 NHL season. All games carried exclusively by the specialty channel will be delivered to viewers in High Definition. In addition, Leafs Nation fans can tune in to all eight preseason games on Leafs TV beginning with the September 18 opener at Edmonton.
In addition to the 20 regular season games on Leafs TV, the Leafs will appear 28 times on CBC, 22 times on Rogers Sportsnet, and 12 times on TSN this season.
“Leafs TV is available on all television service providers in its NHL-restricted territory of Ontario, excluding the Ottawa Valley, and for the first time will be offered to a much wider base of television viewers on Rogers Cable’s new Digital VIP Tier Four,” said Tom Anselmi, executive vice president and chief operating officer for Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Ltd. “Produced by us with unique access to Leafs players, coaches and management, no other source can deliver what we can to Leafs fans across Ontario. We spend more than any club in the NHL in producing the best broadcasts available in High Definition, taking viewers inside the dressing room and on to the ice to get up close to their favourite team.”
Leafs TV brings hockey fans the most comprehensive Leafs coverage 24 hours a day, seven days a week with games, in-depth discussions, expert analysis, interviews and updates. In addition to exclusive inside access to the Leafs, fans receive extensive coverage of the Toronto Marlies, the Leafs’ American Hockey League affiliate.
