(August 25, 2006) -- Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) announced Friday that they have named Christopher Hebb as the organization's senior vice-president of broadcast. Hebb will oversee Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment's broadcast and media assets including Leafs TV and Raptors NBA TV, broadcast rights, distribution and live game production.

With more than 25 years experience, Hebb makes the move to Toronto after an 11 year career with Orca Bay Sports and Entertainment in Vancouver where he led the company's broadcast and new media division for the Vancouver Canucks and the Vancouver Grizzles.

"Broadcast remains a vital part of our overall business, so we're excited to have Chris join MLSE. He brings an extensive range of experience and leadership skills combined with innovative ideas to a fast-paced industry that's driven by constant change," said Tom Anselmi, executive vice-president and chief operating officer of MLSE. "His work with the NHL and NBA has garnered him a great deal of respect among his peers throughout the Canadian broadcast industry."

Prior to his career with Orca Bay, Hebb held a number of positions including host and producer of various television shows for BCTV and CanWest Global. A native of British Columbia, Hebb is a graduate of the University of Victoria.
