The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Friday that they have acquired defenceman Marc Moro from the Nashville Predators in exchange for defencemen D.J. Smith and Marty Wilford.

Moro recorded one goal and eight assists in 41 games with the Milwaukee Admirals of the AHL this season. He has been assigned to the Leafs affiliate in St. John's.

Smith was originally acquired from the New York Islanders through a trade in 1996. He posted totals of 16 points on six goals and ten assists in 59 games with St. John's this season. Wilford, who was acquired from Chicago just prior to the start of the 2001-02 season, had recorded 25 points on four goals and 21 assists.
