Leafs Support the Daily Bread Food Bank

by Staff Writer / Toronto Maple Leafs
(December 6, 2003)-- The wives and partners of the Toronto Maple Leafs, along with the Toronto Ford Dealers are getting into the holiday spirit by sharing some goodwill in support of the Daily Bread Food Bank. The Toronto Maple Leafs annual holiday food drive will be held Saturday, December 6 during the pre-game of the Leafs versus Detroit Red Wings game at Air Canada Centre.

The wives and partners are asking fans attending this game to bring non-perishable food items, especially peanut butter, baby formula, canned fish, and canned fruit. All food or monetary donations can be dropped in the collection bins located at all gates at Air Canada Centre or in the Ford Blue Route entering the arena.

The food drive is specifically targeting high protein items to aid thousands of low-income families in the Greater Toronto Area.

The Leafs wives and partners have collected close to 40,000 pounds of food since initiating their involvement with the Daily Bread Food Bank in 1991
