Leafs skate for Easter Seal Kids

by Staff Writer / Toronto Maple Leafs
The Toronto Maple Leafs will host the TD Toronto Maple Leafs Skate for Easter Seal Kids on Sunday, November 18, 2001. Up to 1,000 skaters will lace up with the Leafs to raise funds for Easter Seal Kids in support of children, youth and young adults with physical disabilities.

Registration for this year's Skate is now underway by calling The Easter Seal Society at (416) 421-8377 or toll free at 1-800-668-6252 or online at www.easterseals.org. Each participant must raise $50 minimum in pledges to experience an unforgettable celebrity skate on the ice at Air Canada Centre alongside their favourite Leaf Heroes past and present.

TD is committed to supporting the communities it serves. In addition to its sponsorship of The TD Toronto Maple Leafs Skate for Easter Seal Kids, TD supports a host of local, regional and national children's programs across Canada, promoting health, safety and education.

The Easter Seal Society provides direct and essential services and programs to children with physical disabilities and their families. Some of these services include financial assistance for equipment, children's camps, counseling, parent support programs, advocacy and funding research. Last year, the TD Toronto Maple Leaf Skate for Easter Seal Kids raised more than $230,000 for the Easter Seal Society.

Go Kids Go! The Leaf Fund is the charitable fundraising arm of the Toronto Maple Leafs and is committed to supporting children's charities as well as important community initiatives throughout Toronto. Each year, Go Kids Go! raises $1 million in support of local charities.

Since its inception in 1982 the Leaf Skate has raised more than $4 million for the Easter Seal Society.
