David Nonis, Senior Vice-President and General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced Friday that the hockey club has signed centreman Tyler Bozak
to a five-year contract. The Maple Leafs also announced they have signed forwards Frazer McLaren
and Trevor Smith, as well as defencemen T.J. Brennan and Kevin Marshall to contracts.
Bozak, 27, played 46 games with the Maple Leafs in 2012-13, collecting 28 points (12 goals, 16 assists) with six penalty minutes. He ranked first on the team in faceoff percentage (52.6%) and second in game-winning goals (tie-3). The native of Regina, Saskatchewan, also registered a goal, an assist and four penalty minutes in five playoff games last season.
In 238 career NHL games (2009-10 to 2012-13), all with the Maple Leafs, Bozak has posted 134 points on 53 goals and 81 assists with 48 minutes in penalties. The 6-1, 195-pound forward was originally signed as a free agent by Toronto on April 3, 2009.
