The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Friday that they have signed goaltender Jean-Francois Racine to a multi-year contract.

Racine, 20, was originally drafted by the Leafs with their fourth pick, 90th overall, in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. The 2001-02 season was Racine's third with the QMJHL's Drummondville Voltigeurs in which he posted totals of 29 wins, 30 losses and 3 ties with a goals against average of 3.43. The St. Hyacinthe, Quebec product would have re-entered the 2002 NHL Entry Draft had the Leafs failed to sign him prior to June 1st at 5:00 pm.
